Security Forces Raid Home in Jigjiga Amid Rising Insecurity

Jigjiga – Somali Regional State forces reportedly carried out a midnight raid on the home of Cali Samirre in Jigjiga, causing harm to his family and damaging property. According to sources, the incident occurred while Cali Samirre was not at home, leaving his wife and children exposed during the attack. Household belongings were also destroyed during the raid.

The incident comes shortly after Cali Samirre published a critical statement directed at regional President Mustafe earlier that same day, raising concerns about a possible link between his remarks and the subsequent attack on his residence.

Jigjiga has been experiencing a growing security crisis in recent months. Reports indicate that at least three young girls, each around 10 years old, were brutally killed after being subjected to sexual violence and other forms of abuse. Despite these alarming incidents, residents say that effective measures to improve security have yet to be implemented.

Observers note that criminal activity has become increasingly frequent, while security forces appear to be focusing more on monitoring critics of the government and social media activity rather than addressing the worsening safety situation.

The situation has raised serious concerns among residents, who are calling for urgent action to restore security and protect civilians.
